Testing partnership between Pearson VUE and The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) honoured by Gold Stevie Award
COVID-19 has accelerated the pace of digital transformation across many different industries. Organisations are continuing to adapt to new operating environments while adopting digital tools to not only improve their internal processes, but to positively impact their wider sector.
Pearson VUE’s long-standing client, The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), recently won a Gold Stevie Award for “most valuable service” in the field of healthcare innovation. Widely-considered the world’s premier business awards, the ‘Stevies’ recognise exemplary achievement across the Middle East and North Africa.
The DoH’s adoption of online proctored test delivery (via Pearson VUE) enables the regulative body to maintain continuity of patient care during the global pandemic. The option of taking exams remotely, ensures that candidates are still able to sit required licensure examinations when appointment availability at physical test centres is reduced by social distancing requirements. Through offering greater convenience and flexibility around testing, the DoH continues to attract high-calibre healthcare professionals from all over the world to practice in the Middle East.
Last year, the DoH renewed its multi-year agreement with Pearson VUE, positioning the global assessments company as Abu Dhabi’s exclusive vendor for computer-based medical testing.
Since it first started working with the DoH in 2009, Pearson VUE has supported the regulator in achieving its long-term goal of advancing the healthcare sector and improving patient care in the United Arab Emirates. Pearson VUE provides exam content development for a range of professional certifications, as well as online proctored and test centre exam delivery, to enhance the overall licensure process for the DoH. Through the strength of its partnership with Pearson VUE, over 100,000 professionals have now obtained their license to practice and have advanced in their medical careers with the DoH.
‘’The Department of Health-Abu Dhabi has always been quick to embrace new innovations in the healthcare sector. This past year has been challenging for many professionals with the backdrop of the global pandemic, yet significant progress has been made around improving the quality of healthcare in the region. We’re delighted to see how our technology has enabled professionals to be licensed more efficiently and to see the Department’s achievements and leadership now being recognised in this way,’’ explained Matthew Poyiadgi, Vice President EMEA, Pearson VUE.
