What does it take to deliver one of the world’s largest international assessments digitally? The PISA 2025 case study goes behind the scenes of a programme spanning 91 countries and economies, 54 languages and more than 900,000 assessment sessions, revealing what digital assessment at this scale really involves.
Inside PISA 2025: from global delivery to the findings ahead.
Delivering PISA 2025 meant working at a scale few assessment programmes ever encounter. Different languages, infrastructure and testing environments all had to come together while maintaining the consistency and reliability expected of an international study.
Working with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and consortium partners, TAO supported more than 900,000 assessment sessions across 91 countries and economies, in 54 languages.
Some of the story behind this work was shared with the assessment community at the recent eAA event, offering a glimpse into the scale and complexity of delivering PISA digitally. The full case study goes deeper, exploring how the programme supported online and offline delivery, adapted to very different technical environments and addressed the operational realities of assessment at this scale.
And there is more to come. As the OECD releases the PISA 2025 findings, TAO will be unpacking the data through executive reports, expert commentary and interactive discussions.
