What can international accreditation teach us about building stronger, more trusted governance?
In the final session of the Global Medical & Healthcare Assessment SIG’s Lessons Learned series, we’ll look beyond individual systems and borders to explore how international accreditation and mutual recognition can reveal what really matters in effective program governance.
Drawing on examples from healthcare, professional certification and credentialing, the session will examine how established international frameworks approach areas including conflict of interest, accountability, stakeholder representation, decision-making, due process and clearly defined authority.
We’ll consider how comparing governance requirements across jurisdictions can help organisations distinguish between essential standards and practices that have simply developed through convention. Rather than advocating for a single model, the session will explore what governance maturity looks like and how organisations can apply the scrutiny of international accreditation to their own structures and processes.
