On 9 June 2025, as part of the 2025 International e-Assessment Conference, the e-Assessment Association hosted the second
National Examinations Roundtable. This event brought together senior representatives from national examination boards, ministries of
education, regulators and other key stakeholders from around the world.
This year’s roundtable focused on the practical realities of delivering large-scale digital assessments, including accessibility, infrastructure, security and scalability. Delegates shared insights from a wide range of contexts, highlighting both the progress already being made and the challenges still to overcome. With countries from Africa to New Zealand already delivering high-stakes exams digitally, the event reinforced the need for continued collaboration and innovation to ensure national assessments remain fair, secure and future-ready.
Commenting on this event, eAA CEO Patrick Coates said, “This unique event brings together global leaders to collaborate, exchange insights and shape the future of national assessment. It’s been inspiring to build on the momentum of our first roundtable and continue these vital conversations around how technology can enhance fairness, efficiency and outcomes in high-stakes exams. From Africa to New Zealand to Canada, countries are already delivering digital assessments at scale with impressive results. Delegates left energised by what’s possible and with a renewed sense of purpose about the opportunities digital assessment presents.”
