Entrepreneurial Numeracy Skills: A new programme to prepare student-entrepreneurs for success in business

To support student-entrepreneurs, especially during these uncertain times, the award-winning EdTech company, Vretta, has partnered with the venture incubator division at one of Canada’s leading academic institutions, Seneca College, to design and deliver a digital programme called Entrepreneurial Numeracy Skills.

The programme will be designed to assess the financial numeracy skills of student-entrepreneurs and provide them with direction and support to upgrade the skills that require improvement.

The programme will cover key topic areas for students to launch and manage successful ventures, including business numeracy, budgeting, cash and debt management, interest and taxes, business statistics, and business investment decisions. On successful completion of the programme, students will receive a digital certificate of achievement that they can use to strengthen their business portfolio.

“Supporting students, especially those who may have been affected by the current pandemic, is a high priority of ours,” said Anand Karat, President of Vretta. “Our aim for the programme is to strengthen the financial numeracy skills required for students to be successful in their ventures as entrepreneurs or intrapreneurs at organizations.”
