Caribbean Examinations Council chooses RM Results….
We are delighted to announce that the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has signed a four-year contract for RM Assessor onscreen marking software and transition services. CXC joins a list of leading awarding organisations including Cambridge Assessment and the International Baccalaureate which use RM Results’ world-leading e-marking system to mark high stakes exams.
CXC operates throughout the Caribbean with examiners spread across the islands, and expects to streamline operations and increase efficiency by implementing onscreen marking of its paper exams. Onscreen marking removes the need for the dispersed examiner community to travel to a centrally located marking centre to mark the exam scripts. Exam papers will be scanned and distributed digitally to examiners to mark from dispersed locations.
RM and CXC have delivered successful pilot sessions in the region and will roll out live marking for the May/June 2014 sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.
RM Results Managing Director John Ingram said:
“Onscreen marking was the obvious answer to streamlining the process for CXC – and RM Assessor is the natural choice for any awarding organisation needing to e-mark high stakes exams. RM Assessor is a high quality, proven product which will support CXC’s ambitious plans for exam delivery.”
Didacus Jules PhD, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of CXC, said,
“We are committed to delivering the highest levels of quality and accuracy for our candidates, and e-marking will help to facilitate this commitment. RM Assessor will allow real-time monitoring of the marking process. Our rigorous pre-implementation studies revealed that results for e-marking and pen and paper marking are consistent. We look forward to the improvements onscreen marking will bring to CXC’s assessment procedures.”
