Call for contributions- VTQ Research and Reflective Practice Forum

Would you like to share your insights and ideas about good assessment and qualification design, development and delivery with colleagues from other AOs and EPAOs? Perhaps you have found an innovative solution to an assessment issue, or you have an interesting case study to discuss?

On 18 April 2024, the first industry-led VTQ Research and Reflective Practice Forum will take place. The Forum is unique in that the overall content and structure for the event is led by a committee of volunteers who all currently work at AOs and EPAOs in assessment, qualifications, regulation and leadership roles. These volunteers are supported by Ofqual and the Federation of Awarding Bodies’ Awarding and Assessment Academy who are organising and facilitating the overall event on behalf of the awarding sector.

We are looking for contributors from the awarding and assessment community to share their insights on any issue or topic related to vocational and technical assessment, such as:

•                 Accessibility and assessment design

•                 AI and technology – threats and opportunities

•                 Assessment literacy

•                 Assessment strategies, methods, development

•                 Centre assessment, marking, standardisation and training

•                 Ensuring good validity and reliability

•                 Quality assurance and quality improvement

•                 Qualification development

•                 Standards and assessment plans

•                 Use of data in awarding.

Contributions should ask questions about the way that we work on assessment, supporting/challenging established ideas or proposing new ones. They may be informed by research and/or reflections on working practices.

The deadline for proposals is 6 November 2023.
