Next steps for reforming primary education: effective teaching practices, assessment and accountability

Westminster Education Forum

Following the recent publication of the recommendations of the Teaching Schools Council’s review into effective primary teaching practice led by Dame Reena Keeble, this seminar will assess reforms to primary education focusing on teaching, assessment and accountability at primary level.

Delegates will discuss the review’s recommendations – as well as what can be learnt from the implementation so far of the new primary curriculum, including the pressures on staff from delivering the new more rigorous study programmes.

The already impressive line-up of speakers presenting at this event, includes Tim Oates, Group Director, Assessment Research and Development, Cambridge Assessment; Sarah Maughan, Director of Research, AlphaPlus Consultancy; Sarah Hannafin, Policy Advisor and member, Independent Assessment Review Group, NAHT and Professor Ken Jones, Senior Policy Officer, Curriculum and Assessment, NUT.
