JISC RSC Scotland
An Introduction to e-Assessment
The JISC RSC Scotland delivers a fully online course on e-Assessment, ‘An Introduction to e-Assessment’. The part-time course lasts three weeks and provides an introduction to principles of effective assessment practice, examples of e-Assessment tools and approaches and some analysis of how to design e-Assessments. Subjects such as formative assessment, feedback and peer review are explored and there is plenty of opportunity for discussion.
JISC RSC Scotland online courses are hosted on the RSC learning platform and make use of a number of online tools including webinars, discussion forums and blogs. An underpinning concept of these online courses is the importance of dialogue and sharing of practice, ideas and perspectives amongst a group of people in order to learn. By focusing on authentic tasks, the social aspects of learning and the development of a learner community, the course activities support not only the learning of the individual participant but the development of the group as a whole.
